Quietly situated 10 minutes pleasant walk along the coastal path from Porthleven Harbour, this converted dairy and cow barn provides generous, well equipped and comfortable ground floor holiday accommodation for two -a small dog is also welcome. Excellent walking area with wonderful National Trust coastal and river walks on the nearby Penrose Estate and Loe Bar.
A really peaceful seaside location within walking distance of a bustling village with a regular bus service to Penzance and Helston and beyond for those who want to leave their car at home. There is a daily National Express service to Plymouth, Reading and London from Porthleven Harbour. Off road parking is available on site.
Porthleven is the most southerly working port in the UK and its historic use can still be seen in the buildings around the harbour.
The village remains unspoilt whilst offering a comprehensive range of services including pubs, award winning restaurants and a wide variety of shops.
Surfing on Porthleven Reef Break is for experienced surfers only but provides an interesting spectator sport, along with gig rowing. There are regular local events and activiities including the Food Festival in April and Helston Floral Day around 8th May each year.
Nearby places of interest include the many famous Gardens of Cornwall plus Penzance, Falmouth, Truro, The Eden Project, St Ives and the Tate Gallery, Newlyn, the Lisard Peninsular, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Minack Theatre and Lands End. The Helston Railway is being restored at the nearby gardens at Trevano which also hosts the national daffodil collection.
This cottage offers 1 double bedroom with plenty of storage space and wonderful sea views, bathroom with shower over bath, good size fully equipped kitchen and seperate sitting/dining room with beamed ceiling and views along the coast, with door onto patio . We welcpome one small dog at three pounds per day. |
