Cressbrook is said to be Derbyshires prettiest and most scenic village. it nestles on the slopes of Monsal Dale in the heart of the peak district national park and enjoys fabulous views, It is a small village wiith a big heart and has a pub, silver band and a church. It is a conservation village and nestles in a protected area of countryside rich with wildflowers, wildlife and of course badgers. Local shopping is at Litton and tideswell just minutes away.
Tideswell is a quaint and bustling Peakland village whose Church is known as the Cathedral of the Peak. Tideswell regularly wins the Derbyshire Best Kept Village Award and the Britain in Bloom Village Award and is also a Conservation Village which lies in the heart of the Peak District National Park. It has a fine range of 'local shops', pubs and tearooms, which specialise in fresh local produce and is well placed for exploring the delights of the Peak District with many lovely walks from the door.Buxton, Bakewell and Chatsworth House are within 10min drive.
Badger Cottage is a pretty 18th Century mill workers cottage with cast iron lead latticed stone mullioned windows and is a Grade 2 listed historic building. It is set in the heart of Cressbrook with wonderful views over Monsal Dale (picturesque village near Tideswell). Sleeps 6
There are three bedrooms, two are double and one has sturdy full size bunk beds. The master bedroom has a double bed and small TV. Also upstairs is a family shower room with WC and handbasin.
Downstairs is a lovely sitting room with lots of comfy seating and a log burner. set into the original derbyshire fireplace. There is a TV and CD/DVD player, books, games and toys to help you feel at home.
The kitchen diner is well equipped with everything you will need for your stay, it has a table and chairs to seat 6 , a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge with icebox, microwave oven, neff oven and hob and coffee maker
there is also a downstairs bathroom with bath , shower, wc and handbasin.
the sunny terraced garden has breathtaking views over Monsal Dale andis the perfect place to sip a cool drink after a hard days walking
The rear patio is paved, walled and gated and is more private,it has a bbq and table and chairs set. thsi area is secure for dogs.
All rooms have stunning views, the views to the front of the cottage are over Monsal dale and on to Matlock on the horizon and to the rear of the cottage are open fields stocked with cows and sheep. badgers are a feature of the area and can often be seen around the village.
pets are welcome - cover charge £25 each payable upon arrival
good housekeeping bond of £40 is required, returnable when the cottage is left clean and tidy as found
