Wirksworth is an interesting historic market town and hosts Well Dressings in May and an Art and Architecture trail in September.
Wirksworth makes an excellent base for an enjoyable walking or sightseeing holiday. Local attractions include: the Tissington and High Peak Trails, Carsington Water, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, and Kedleston Hall. There are many other local attractions such as the National Tramway Museum and the Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath.
